Winston “Tinker” Glen Beylor


Winston “Tinker,” Beylor died unexpectedly on January 16, 2023 in Lakeland, Florida. He was 87 years old.
Tinker was born in Luray, Virginia, the son of William Mahlon Beylor and Edna Stinson Beylor, previously of Luray, Virginia. Tinker was a long time resident of Yorktown Virginia, where he worked for 42 years as a Supervisor Machinist for Newport News Shipyard, retiring in 1997. Previously, he proudly served his country from 1959 to 1962 as a Sergeant Specialist in the US Army, stationed in Germany and awarded an honorable discharge.
Tinker had a phenomenal knowledge of anything mechanical and he was well know for his long standing vocation of building working trains and innumerable mechanical engines. He could almost always be found in his shop or down at the saw-mill. In addition, he built much of the furniture in his home and shared his crafts with many. Most notable, he and his family built their home together in which he shared with his wife and five children in Yorktown, Virginia where he lived for over forty years.
Tinker is preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 45 years Veronica (Ronnie) Beylor, children Rose and Richard Olson, his sister Phyllis, and parents William and Edna Beylor.
He is survived by sons Michael Beylor (and Kathy), Randal Olson (and wife Cathy), and daughter Regina Mauras (and husband Edwin).
He also leaves behind Grandchildren Jason Ward, Devon Seward, Benjamin Hawkenson, Cassandra Olson, Christopher Olson, and William Olson; Great-grandchildren Justen, Kyla, Torak, Axel, Abigal, Neil, Lucas, and Evelyn, In addition, he is survived by nieces Jeanette, Rebecca, and Roxanne, and nephews Phillip and Ben, sister-in-laws Margaret and Ruth, cousin Kenneth Cullers (and wife Patsy), and dear friends Wayne and Virgie Farlow.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Amory Funeral Home in Grafton, Virginia. All are welcome to attend. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday January 27, 2023 in Beahms Chapel Cemetery in Luray, Virginia where Tinker will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Veronica.
