Timothy Louis Dwiggins

IN LOVING MEMORY
Timothy Louis Dwiggins
July 18, 1950 – May 25, 2026
Timothy Louis Dwiggins, 75, of Yorktown, Virginia, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026. He will be remembered for his love of family, his gift for storytelling, and his rare ability to make a friend of every stranger he met.
Born on July 18, 1950, in Alton, Illinois, Tim was the youngest of five children born to Louis and Isabel Dwiggins. He proudly served more than 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Communications Specialist, with assignments in the Azores and at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. His final assignment at Langley Air Force Base brought him and Kathleen to Yorktown — a place they fell in love with and chose to call home upon his retirement.
Tim never met a stranger. His animated stories — drawn from childhood tails, years in uniform, and family travels — had a way of drawing people in, and his ready smile made everyone feel welcome.
He found joy in simple pleasures: a home-cooked meal, coffee in the garden, a crossword puzzle or Sudoku, and time with family, friends, and his beloved pets.
The great love of his life was his wife of 53 years, Kathleen, who preceded him in death in 2023. He devoted himself completely to her care in her final years, and after her passing found renewed comfort in his faith as a regular attendant of Resurrection Lutheran Church.
Tim is survived by his daughters, Tricia Ander (Joseph, deceased); Amy Castagnola and her husband, Steve; and EmiLeigh Pennell and her husband, Scott; his seven beloved grandchildren, Rachael Ander, Laura Ander, Matthew Ander, Megan Reed (Chase), Katelynn Gonino (Kye), Riley Pennell, and Ainslee Pennell; his brother, John Dwiggins and his wife, Ruth; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Bud, Bob, and Sue.
