Terry Ruple


Terry Ruple, born on March 6, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, passed away on March 9, 2025, in York County, Virginia.
Terry was a long-time resident of the Buckroe area of Hampton enjoying the old amusement park and walks on the beach. She was also a part of the first graduating class of Kecoughtan High School in 1965.
Terry dedicated her career to Old Point National Bank, where she made a lasting impact through her work over a 36-year career in banking. Her professional contributions were valued by colleagues and clients alike.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elliot and June Hamrick; her husband’s parents, Edward and Cleo Ruple; her sister in law, Janice Ruple-Shortt and her brothers in law, Ben Brown and Philip Hall Sr.
She enjoyed shopping and good restaurants. She enjoyed traveling the country and visiting the beach. She was always found with a nice big glass of sweet tea.
Terry is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Edward Ruple Jr. She is also survived by her sister Sandra Piland (Billy), sisters-in-law Cathy Brown and Mary Hall. Her nieces and nephews include, Jeff Brown (Amy), Philip Hall Jr (Beth), Paul Hall (Rebecka), Penny Smith (Bryon), Patrick Hall, Sherry Setlift (Gene), Justin Setlift (Madison), Daniel Setlift, David Piland (Jennifer). She has numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff of York Rehabilitation and Convalescent Care for the compassion shown to Terry through her stay.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew them.
