Terry C. Smith
Terry C. Smith, formerly of Charlottesville, a master tinker, was called home by the Lord, December 21, 2024 in Newport News, Va, having been in residence at Warwick Forest for the past four- and one –half years.
Terry was born in Rainelle, West Virginia, the son of the late Al and Maude Smith, but grew up in Charlottesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kathy Jones Smith, his brother Ronald Smith, his sisters Barbara Smith and Donna Lewis. Terry is survived by his brothers Randall (Faye) of Charlottesville, William (Betty) of Brookneal and James (Sherry) of Yorktown. He is also survived by three stepsons, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins. Terry never knew a stranger, and would give of his talents at the drop of a hat. Terry worked for H M Gleason, R E Lee construction and retired as his own boss working on other folks’ small engines. Special thanks to the staff of Warwick Forest, as they cared for Terry these last years as dementia ravaged his mind and body.
SERVICE UPDATE
A memorial service will be held, January 18, 2025 at 1:00 pm, at Park Lane Free Will Baptist Church, 112 Park Lane West, in Charlottesville.
In lieu of flowers, please take time to visit a shut in, or a nursing home, giving of your time is the most precious gift of all. A time of visitation with the family will follow the service. Amory Funeral Home of Yorktown has handled the arrangements for Terry, and we thank them for their care. One loves best, when they place no conditions upon their love!
