Teresa Osma Randolph


Teresa Osma Randolph, 87, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 10, 2021. Terry was born in May, 1934 to Jose Maria and Helen Osma of Lawrence, Kansas. She was a 1950 graduate of Kingswood School and a 1954 graduate of Bryn Mawr College, where she received a B.A in Biology. She married William Mann Randolph III in 1956; they were together for 61 years until his death in 2017. She is survived by her children Helen Randolph (Carl Canavan) of Arlington, VA, Elizabeth Randolph of Yorktown, VA, Carolina Randolph Steup (Matthias Steup) of Longmont, CO, Thomas Randolph (Susan Randolph) of Reading, PA, and six grandchildren. Her husband’s military career took Terry and the family to many locations in the US and Europe; in 1973 they returned to Virginia, where they remained, first in Hampton, and more recently in Yorktown. She spent 45 years working with Virginia Swimming, both as a meet official and later as a board member – in 2016 her contributions were recognized by USA Swimming with the Maxwell Excellence Award. Her love of music was also a constant; she sang in numerous church choirs and was a member of the Virginia Choral Society for forty years. She volunteered many hours to the American Red Cross and other community organizations. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown, VA. Burial will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Monticello outside Charlottesville, VA.
