Tammy Sue Thomas-Grabouski

Tammy Sue Thomas-Grabouski passed away suddenly and peacefully Sunday.
Tracy Thomas was her husband of 41 years. Together they raised 3 daughters: Nicole Maree, Sierra Dawn, and Krystal Starr. Tammy was also a very involved grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren: Zackary, Aiden, Autumn, Levi, and Kallen. She also leaves behind a mother, Georgia, 2 sisters: Terral (Jack) and Tonya (John), and many nieces and nephews. Her father, Howard, precedes her in death as well as many of her beloved friends.
Tammy was born on a cold, snowy day in Nebraska. At 6 weeks old Tammy and her family moved to Southern California. She grew up riding horses, water skiing, and camping in the desert.
Tammy became a United States Navy wife and had 3 daughters whom she often parented alone when Tracy was deployed. She was a fierce mama bear over her children, and dared anyone to cross them. She was also “everyone’s mom” and mothered her children’s friends who were often at the Thomas home for cookouts and holidays.
Her dry, sometimes dark sense of humor and sarcasm kept her family, friends, and neighbors in constant laughter. Tammy prided herself for being the one woman neighborhood watch and keeping a lookout for her neighbors. As a mother, she inspired fun and togetherness with her endless creative antics, making the simplest things memorable. The grandchildren remember
Grana for her “special” recipes and the trips that the whole family enjoyed. Tammy was a firecracker, but there was only one thing on this Earth that she feared: snakes.
Tammy has made a tremendous impact on many people throughout her lifetime and memories of her will be cherished.
The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 11am-1pm at Amory Funeral Home in Yorktown, Va.
