

Stacy Hicks DeMouth
Mrs. Stacy Hicks DeMouth, 58, died Monday morning (May 5, 2025) at Hospice House Satilla following an extended illness.
She was born September 1, 1966 in Newport News, VA to the late Lucas Earl Hicks, Jr. and Linda Ingraham Hicks. She had a masters degree and was a paramedic with Heartland EMS. She was a member of Zion Methodist Church in Seaford, VA.
Stacy was raised in Virginia, lived in Virginia, Idaho, New York, Florida, and finally settled down in Georgia. Stacy was a fun loving happy person always caring about others. With her love to help others she became a paramedic. Stacy worked most of her 25 year career with Heartland EMS. She specialized in neonatal, cardiac, and respiratory. Stacy was very involved with her boys and their friends. It was open house to all.
In later years, she became an advocate of veterans with PTSD. She started an online group called, Loving My Veteran. They had weekly zoom meetings, private groups, and private counseling. She also formed a group for first responders, Walking In My Shoes.
Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother-Granna.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and always remembered with a smile. Stacy was raised in faith and lived in faith with everything she did.
In addition to her father she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl DeMouth; her paternal grandparents, Lucas and Eva Hicks (Poppie and Nana); and her maternal grandmother, Charlotte Ingraham (Mema).
She is survived by her mother, Linda Ingraham Hicks of Newport News, VA; her two sons, David “Waffle” Smith (Sarah) of Waycross, GA and Seth Smith (fiancé Brandie) of Laurens County, GA; her four grandchildren, Blake Register, Brannon Brack, Addison Bonnor, and Hadley Claire Smith; a brother, Lucas “Trey” Hicks III (Ashley) of Seaford, VA; a niece, Mackenzie Hicks; a nephew, Luke Hicks; her special friends, Fred and LeeAnn MacDonald; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday May 10, 2025 in Zion United Methodist Church, Seaford, Va.
The family will be receiving friends starting at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
