Sandra “Sandy” Hespe

Sandra “Sandy” Hespe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2025. She was 79.

Sandy was the cherished wife of Ken Hespe for 54 years. Together, they led a wonderful and adventurous life, enjoying boating, pooltime, and traveling both across the United States and abroad. Their journey together was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories for sure.

She was the loving mother of Jennifer K. Frazier and David M. Hespe and a devoted grandmother to Madison K. Dillard, whom she adored. Family was at the heart of Sandy’s life, and she treasured the time spent with her loved ones.

A dedicated educator in the York County School Division, Sandy was a role model and mentor to many young educators and students. She gave selflessly to the education community, shaping countless lives with her guidance, wisdom, and encouragement. She was admired not only for her intellect and dedication but also for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support of those around her.

Sandy was known for her warm smile, her friendly and welcoming nature, and her ability to make everyone feel valued. She was a dear friend to many and was deeply loved and respected. Her presence brought joy and comfort, and her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

A visitation to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held at Amory Funeral Home in Yorktown, VA, on February 25th from 2 pm – 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital in her honor.

Sandy’s kindness, wisdom, and loving spirit will be greatly missed, but the impact she made on her family, friends, and students will never be forgotten.
