Roberta Williams “Bertie” Skeens

Roberta Williams (“Bertie”) Skeens, 86, of Yorktown, died October 15, 2023. She was born in Grundy, Virginia, to Pierre and Marie Williams. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard “Bud” Skeens and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Sheri Williams (Dave) of Tabb; her daughter Kristi Skeens (Deborah), of Mountainair, New Mexico; her grandson Ryon Williams, of Newport News; her granddaughter Kailey Jackson (Jack) of Poquoson; 2 great granddaughters, Madelyn and Ellie; her brother, Pete Williams, of Grundy, VA; and her sister, Fran Entrekin (Ivan) of Atlanta, GA.
Bertie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and loved throwing meals together for her family. She thoroughly enjoyed working at Tabb High School for many years, and was an avid sports fan of the Tigers, as well as the Virginia Tech Hokies.
At Bertie’s request, there will be no public memorial or burial service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in her honor.
