Robert “Bob” Weakley


It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Weakley announce his passing on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the age of 81 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was a native of Culpeper, Virginia, and a 1956 graduate of Culpeper High School. From there he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served our country for 21 years. He then went on to work for the US Postal Service and retired in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland Maxwell and Lillian Virginia Weakley, brother, James T. Weakley and two children, daughter, Corinna Sue Brodie and son, Robert Gary Weakley.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Weakley of Yorktown, 4 daughters, Dee Riter (John) of Yorktown; Yvonne Beyer (Todd) of Clemmons, NC; Denise Brown (Bill) of Yorktown; Darcie Eggleston of Williamsburg; and one son, David Dinter (Ruth) of Colonial Park, PA; 10 grandchildren – Heather Hunt, Lakin Leas, Joshua Riter, Melissa Holman, Timothy Beyer, Jake Brown, Emily Thomas, Alex Brown, Rebecca Dinter, Mason Eggleston and 4 great grandchildren.
In honoring his wishes, his ashes will be spread on Old Rag Mountain. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make donations to the DAV of Yorktown, 1700 George Washington Memorial Highway Ste E, Yorktown, VA 23693 or the Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601.
The family would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff of Riverside Hospital’s Emergency Room, CCU and MICU departments who gave such tender and amazing care to Bob during his stay.
Arrangements will be handled by Amory Funeral Home in Grafton, Virginia.
