Richard (Rick) William Harrison


Richard (Rick) William Harrison, 67, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on 25 September 2023 at his home in Williamsburg.
He was with his beautiful wife Jenny in his final moments.
Rick was born on Ft Bragg, North Carolina and a native of Livonia, Michigan. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in October 1973 as an aircraft propulsion technician and rose to the level of Senior Master Sergeant. He served his country with dignity and honor while managing some of the military’s top weapon systems. Among his many medals and honors, Rick received the meritorious service medal for his actions spanning across three wars as the sole requirements expert at Headquarters maintaining engines across the largest aircraft bomber fleet in the world. Rick embodied the very best of the enlisted corps and his actions ensured American deterrence was never in doubt.
After proudly serving his country for 25 years he went on to proudly serve his community as a small business entrepreneur. Embroidery Works was his pride and joy and allowed him to touch so many people while leaving his signature throughout the community for all to see and enjoy.
Rick loved all kinds of sports and enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing and golf, and most of all he and Jenny sharing their time together riding their Harley’s across the peninsula
Rick’s love for his family and friends was contagious. He could share a story with a smile to just about anyone he met and helped everyone just forget about life for a while. He truly was a friend to all and will be fondly remembered and forever loved and missed.
He is survived by his wife Jenny Marie Edwards Harrison and a daughter Jenna Adolph (Dwayne), sisters Susan Wilson (Rick) and Kathy Stahl (Jason), brothers, Charles Harrison (Patty) and Patrick Harrison (Linda) and grandson, Christian Norum (Karissa).
Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 in Amory Funeral Home Chapel with full Military Honors. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va.
