Richard Earl “Ricky” Bowler

Ricky Bowler, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, August 12. Ricky will be remembered for his kindness, silly sense of humor, and his love for anything old school hot rods.
Ricky grew up in York County. He never met a stranger and could talk about anything…sometimes for hours. He was always getting into something and loved to stay busy. He enjoyed racing, bike riding, walking down Yorktown beach and going to the Cruise-In car meets on Saturday nights during the summer. Wherever Ricky was, you would always hear him before you would see him. Kidding aside, Ricky was a good-hearted person and will be missed by all who cared for him.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Carolyn Bowler and a sister, Dreama Blackburn. Ricky is survived by his fiancée Sharon Stevens, a niece, Teresa Phillips of Mathews, best buddy of 18 years, Puddy Bowler as well as Kitty Binkers. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ricky’s memory to PAWS – Poquoson Animal Welfare Sanctuary, P. O. Box 2204, Poquoson, VA 23662.
