Rayford “Red” Church

Rayford “Red” Church, 67, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, after an unexpected battle with brain cancer. Red was a native and lifelong resident of Newport News and Hampton VA. He graduated from Hampton High School, and spent his career as a Ship Fitter. Red was widowed by his companion and wife, Susan Louis church, in 2015. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Nannie “Lue” Church, and brother, Joey Church. Red is survived by his son, Jeffrey Turner (Unique); grandchild, Trinity Love Turner; brothers Duke Church and Joe Church; sister, Teresa Barrett. Red’s family and friends will gather on Saturday September 30th, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
