Pauline (Polly) N. Moore

Pauline (Polly) N. Moore, born December 1, 1923, passed away at the remarkable age of 100 on April 5, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Ruth Nowell, husband Authur A. Moore, son-in-law Darrell R. Kendrick, and grandson Gordon M. Ivey, III. She is survived by her son Gordon M. Ivey, Jr. (wife Kim), daughter Candace (Candy) M. Kendrick, and granddaughter Sarah A. M. Kendrick. Born in North Carolina, Polly lived most of her adult life in Newport News and York County, Virginia, where she retired from the civil service at Fort Eustis. Polly was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and had many friends including those she made on and off the golf course and at the bridge table. She continued to enjoy playing golf and bridge well into her eighties. Although small in stature, Polly had a large personality and was full of spunk. She was the matriarch of our small family and maintained that holidays and family birthdays were always celebrated together. She will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on April 18th at 11:00 a.m.
