Paula Mae Stevens

Grafton, Va. – Paula Mae Stevens (72) passed away Thursday, January 26th, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Paula was born in Portsmouth and was a lifelong Peninsula resident. She attended York High School. She had a great deal of pleasure driving her ice cream truck thru the streets of Yorktown.
Paula was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be truly missed by us all. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends going to the beach such as the Outer Banks and Morehead City.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband Vernon Stevens, one daughter Angie and David Drees, her four grandchildren Christopher, Austin, Crystal and Aubrey Drees, her two great grandsons Bowen and Paul Drees, her sweet Payton Veditz, and many of other loved ones. She is also survived by two special nieces, Shannon Colvard (Mike) and their children Jesse, Blake, Mikey and Makayla, as well as Triva Lantto (Denise), special nephews Anthony Barry and his son Aaron, Jimmy Howell, Kenny Howell and Darrell Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Dolly Austin a sister, Darleen Austin and a nephew Paul Barry.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 pm in Amory Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Amory Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private.
