Nila Ormand Hansford

Nila Ormand Hansford, 78, of York County, Virginia, passed away on January 4th, 2025.
Nila graduated from York High School in 1965 where she forged lifelong friendships with many of her classmates. She then went on to a long career at BASF, working her way up from a “steno pool girl” to Pensions Manager. After retiring she volunteered at Mary Immaculate Hospital and served as an Elder and as Treasurer for Grafton Christian Church.
She enjoyed boating, the beach, gardening, and her church family, but by far her greatest joy was being “Mimi” to her beloved grandchildren.

Remaining to cherish Nila’s memory are daughter and son-in-law Becki and Johnnie West, grandchildren Marina, Hayden, and Jackson West, and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral will be held January 10th at 11:00 am at Grafton Christian Church in Grafton, VA, with Rev. Robin Moscati officiating. Interment will be in Grafton Christian Church Cemetery. The church invites all attendees to a reception in the fellowship hall following the service.
