Michael Christopher Upchurch

Michael Christopher Upchurch, age 26, of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away on Saturday March 9, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1997, in Newport News, Virginia.
Michael was known for his caring and compassionate nature, as well as his sense of humor. He was a loving brother, and devoted son to his mother, Mrs. Rhonda Upchurch.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kyla Upchurch, his mother Mrs. Rhonda Upchurch, and his sister Stefanie Upchurch. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Upchurch, and his grandparents, Vance and Mae Hedgepeth and Leo and Nellie Upchurch and an uncle Michael L. Upchurch.
In his career, Michael worked in management at the Virginia Port Authority and also as a Paramedic for AMR. Outside of work, he enjoyed cooking, working out, and building Lego figures as a hobby.
A service to honor Michael’s life will be held at Amory Funeral Home Chapel in Yorktown, Virginia on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Visitation for friends will be at Amory Funeral Home on Thursday March 14, 2024 between 5-7PM. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter
