Marilyn Joyner Modlin
Marilyn Joyner Modlin also affectionately known as “GEGE” passed away peacefully August 25, 2025.
Marilyn was born and raised in Hampton, Virginia. She graduated from Hampton High School and attended ODU. She had a passion for theater and before medical complications; she sang at church and in many musical productions. She held many interesting jobs over the years. She ran her own business, was a lobbyist for the Virginia State Senate, and retired as a flight attendant for Piedmont Airlines. She loved to travel to the beach, wineries and campgrounds. She is proceeded in death by the love of her life Michael Modlin. Her beautiful mother Beverly Anne Guilford and her beloved father Henry Guilford (Pop Henry). She is survived by her devoted daughter Shannon Zagursky, her husband Michael and her four cherished grandsons Ivan, Levi, Ryan and Layne. Her loving “baby brother” Hank Guilford and wife Michelle. A special thank you to Affinity Care, nurse Susie, thank you for advocating for her when she could not.
