Margie Carmines Dumas

Margie Carmines Dumas, 94, passed away on Friday December 22, 2023. Margie was a native of Poquoson and lifelong York county resident. She was a lifelong member of Yorktown Baptist Church. She retired from Colonial Williamsburg and volunteered at York Hall and was a former member of the Yorktown Woman’s Club. It was very important to Margie to spend time with her family and friends
Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Moty Dumas, Sr. and a daughter Rebecca “Becky” Stodhhill and her sister Ann Ransdell and brothers, Tom and George Carmines. She is survived by her four children, Bonnie Shoemaker and her husband, Kenny, of Statesville, N.C., Montia Turner of Jacksonville, Ala., and Moty Dumas Jr. of Newport News. Also survived by her eight grandchildren, Amy McGarity, Catherine Royster and her husband Timothy, Sonya Lederer and her husband, Todd, Brandy Stodghill, Bryan Shoemaker and his wife Kimberly, Myra Mata and her husband Tony, Paula Patterson and her husband Chris, Frankie Turner; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren and special companion Chloe.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM in Yorktown Baptist Church with a service to follow at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday December 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Peninsula Memorial Park.
