

Margaret M. Henton

On August 10, 2026 Margaret M. Henton, née Egan, (Marge), a long-time parishioner of both Immaculate Conception Catholic and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Churches, passed into the arms of the Lord who she proclaimed with all of her life.
She is survived by her sons Michael (Lori) and Kevin, and her daughters Carol Jones (Jeff) and Sharon Simpson (Scott “Allen”), and daughter-in-law Sue Henton. 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Joey, Krystiann, Jake and Casie Henton; Jeffrey (Kayla) and Megan Jones, and Valerie (Brentley) Moore. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Betty Herman and Jeannette Trembly (Ernie) along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially her beloved friends Eileen and Dan Maher and their families and her St. Valentine Guild Sisters-in-Faith. Marge was preceded in death by her love of her life, her husband Jim, and their loving daughter Margie Henton Quinley and her husband Dan, as well as her beloved son Joseph Henton.
Having finished her ministry on earth, please gather with her family and her faith family to proclaim her redemption at a Funeral Mass, which will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2150 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, VA 23666 on Wednesday August 19. 2026 at 10AM, with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass. There will be a reception in the commons area immediately following the Mass and a graveside service at 1PM in Peninsula memorial Park, Newport News, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Peninsula Agency on Aging, 739 Thimble Shoals Blvd. Suite 1006 Newport News, VA 23602 for Meals on Wheels Program for the sick and elderly on the Peninsula. PAA held a very special place in Marge’s heart, as she worked there for 25 years in many different capacities.
