Madelaine S. Akers

Madelaine Samantha Akers, Maddie to her family, was born on October 31, 1988.
Her life was full of adventure, art, creativity, and friendship. A talented musician, Maddie spent many years playing with the Fifes and Drums of Yorktown, the York Middle School, and York High School Bands. Maddie loved stories, games, movies, and all manner of speculative fiction. She had enviable talent in every art she ever picked up. Drawing, playing music, crafting costumes, baking sweets, literary analysis, storytelling, Maddie had a gift for it all, and shared her gifts anytime she could. On October 24th, 2025, her life was tragically cut short. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Akers, her father Walt Akers, her younger brother, Daniel, her beloved aunts Kathy and Gail, uncles Tom and Alex, cousins Mike, Vicky, Andrea and Jeremy, her sister in law Jacquelin, her very sweet niece Miriam, and countless friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 3rd, 2025 from 6-8 PM at the Amory Funeral Home, 410 Grafton Drive, Grafton, Virginia 23692.
