Linda L Stokes

Yorktown, VA–Linda L. Stokes, 75, of Yorktown passed away on June 12, 2022. She was preceded by her father Timothy C. Lamb, Sr. and her mother Darlene Neeley Lamb. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, R. Wayne Stokes; daughter Melanie Stokes Pesola (Eric); daughter Michelle Stokes; and son Robert W. Stokes (Kelly). Her adoring grandchildren are Alec & Neeley Pesola and April & Trey Stokes. A lifelong resident of the peninsula, Linda graduated from Hampton High School in 1966. During the Vietnam era, she was a civil servant at both Ft. Eustis and Ft. Monroe, serving as a secretary for Army recruiting and the military police. She left civil service to raise her three beloved children. Later returning to the workforce, she enjoyed a distinguished career as a mortgage loan processor for many years. A memorial service will be held on Wed., June 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Amory Funeral Home. 410 Grafton Dr., Yorktown 23692. Donations in Linda’s honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
