Leon Thomas McCloskey


Leon Thomas McCloskey, 82, fondly known as “Mac” passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
Leon was a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and a Yorktown resident since 2019.
Leon serviced in the United States Air Force during Vietnam for 6 years and retired from AT&T in 1991 after 30 years of service. After retirement he went to work for Berks Western in Reading, Pennsylvania for a number of years. He was a member of the Rohrerstown Athletic Association Hunting Camp. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, anything outdoors, but especially enjoyed his family and joking with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Susan Friedly McCloskey, a son Duane P. McCloskey, along with a sister Nancy Siegler. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years Sharon Pickel McCloskey and a daughter Diane L. Stotz and her husband Steven of Chesapeake, VA and a son Keith T. McCloskey and his wife Billie Jo of Goldsboro, MD. Leon (Mac) has seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 followed by a funeral liturgy at 11:00 on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Services will be held at Snyder Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA.
