Kimberly Lynn Dean

Kimberly Lynn Dean, 57, went to be with Jesus on March 18, 2025.
Kim was an avid equestrian and got her first horse when she was only 3 years old, named Sweet Pea. Throughout her life Kim rescued several horses, giving them new careers and finding them the best of homes. She loved sharing her horses with other people, and knew just how therapeutic the horses could be. She and her horse Dan shared many fond moments hitting trails all over Virginia, their favorite being Grave’s Mountain Trails. Kim was an entrepreneur, starting several businesses including Kelsey’s Deli, The Cactus Steakhouse, and Riverfront Riding Center.
She also was a significant figure in many family businesses. Kim was many things, but her favorite title was “Mom Mum” to her grandson, Bentley. He will forever cherish their relationship and memories. Kimberly is preceded in death by her father, Bobby Grant Dean.
She is survived by her mother Bonnie Kay Dean, her sister Laurie Ann Kimrey (Travis), her brother Robert Grant Dean (Tatiana), her daughter Kelsey Rae Emerson (Ethan), and her grandson Bentley James Edwards. A private celebration of life for Kim’s friends and family will be held at a later time. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va.
