It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of KeeSoon (Kim) Siewert, who departed this world on November 26, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in Incheon, Korea, on May 24, 1936, her American birth was later certified for May 24, 1941. She passed away surrounded by her adoring family, the very people she cherished above all else.
Kim is survived by her seven children: James L., Stoughton, MA; Ordell L. Ange and husband W. Shane, Yorktown, VA; John L., Virginia Beach, VA; Mary L. Minter, Virginia Beach, VA; Gerry L. Her legacy lives on through her 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, who each carry a piece of her immense heart and unwavering spirit. She was preceded in death by her father, Seo, Kwang Dong (Kim Ju Bong); her mother, Gceeg Boon Yuh (Jang, Kap Soon); her former husband and father of her children, Jerry Lynn Siewert; and her grandson, Brian D. Kim was a beacon of warmth and devotion. A dedicated servant of her faith, she was a deacon at her church, embodying her deep love for Jesus Christ and inspiring all who knew her. She often reminded us of her guiding belief: “Life is what you make it.”
To her family, Kim was not only a mother and grandmother but the heart of their lives. She united everyone, hosting countless family gatherings where her extraordinary cooking and hospitality created lifelong memories. Whether you knew her as Kim, Mom, or Grandma Kim, her kindness, warmth, and unconditional love left an unforgettable impact.
