Judith “Judy” Marks Peters

Judith “Judy” Marks Peters
Please celebrate the life and “home – going” of Judith “Judy” Marks Peters who went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2022) while living in Yorktown, Virginia. Judy and her husband, Pete (whose Home-going was on December 26, 2013), were long-time members of Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Gasburg, VA from the time they transferred their memberships on July 13, 1986 from their membership at Northside Christian Church in Newport News Va. until her health declined. They enjoyed many years together living in their “lake” home after retiring here from York County, Virginia. She started a catering business in the area and was an active member of the Lake Gaston Ladies Club for many years.
Judy moved from the lake area to Yorktown in January of 2020 to live close to her daughter for a time. She and Pete enjoyed an active participation in the life of the church for many years. Judy was a wonderful organizer and planner but is best remembered as a Sunday School Teacher.
Per Judy’s wishes a private service will be conducted at a later date. Judy leaves her son and his wife: Doug & Teri Peters, her daughter Diane Waller; all her grandchildren, spouses and great-grandchildren (whom she loved dearly): Shannon & Jason Wells (Austin), D.J. & Courtney Peters (Gavin & Mallory), Zach & Courtney Sipes, Amanda & Mike Stakehouse (Colton, Blake, Seth & London), Josh & Megan Peters (Josie), Keith Waller and Laura Waller. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Evelyn marks
Judy also leaves behind a sister, Sallie Cook and her children mark and Michael Cook and families and first cousins Jodi Vaughan and Carlton Newbern.
May God provide peace, strength, comfort and courage to Judy’s family and friends in their time of sorrow.
