On March 30, 2020, Juanita G. Mower, 87 passed away peacefully in her home in the presence of her family. She was born in South Bend Indiana in 1932 and raised in Niles Michigan. Juanita served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. She then returned to Buchanan, Michigan to raise her family with her husband, Charles Mower, who passed away in 1993. After living most of her life in Buchanan, Michigan she moved permanently to Yorktown, Virginia to be with her family in 2013. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Faith LaViolette-Katke, her husband William Katke, their children, Melissa LaViolette and Alex Katke, and her son Warren Libby.
Juanita enjoyed the simple things in life, such as crocheting and watching old western movies on tv with her cup of coffee. She also loved sharing life stories and talking with her grandchildren. There was a small family viewing and her wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes spread to the four winds. There are many things that she will be remembered for, how happy the little things made her, the laugh she had whenever a corny joke was made, the appreciation of the countless baby blankets she crocheted and gifted, and most of all the love that she had for her family. She was the one person that would always listen and never judge, and lastly, she loved you in countless ways no matter the circumstances. She will be forever loved and missed.
