John Norman Teague, Jr.

Yorktown, Va. John Norman Teague, Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024.
John was a native and lifelong peninsula resident. He graduated from York High School in 1967 and graduated from the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School in 1974. He worked for the shipyard until he retired in 2014 as a Master Shipbuilder after 45 years of loyal service. He was a Navy veteran and enjoyed all things outdoors, including gardening, camping, fishing, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Teague, Sr. and Carrie Edna Teague, and his sister Patricia Sparrer. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Kathleen Jury Teague, his sons Jason Teague (Lindy) and Adam Teague (Kim), grandchildren, Alek, Cameron, and Rylee, a brother Danny Teague (Cathy), a sister Cindy Burgett (Scott), and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital and Harmony on the Peninsula for the high level of care he received. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
A funeral mass will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, in St Joan of Arc Catholic Church. A celebration of life at 1:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2024, at Amory Funeral Home Chapel with interment at 3:00 PM in Grafton Christian Church, Grafton, VA.
