Jerry Scott Wade

Jerry Scott Wade, 54, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024.
Jerry was a native and lifelong resident of York County & Gloucester Virginia. He grew up in Seaford going to Seaford Baptist Church and graduated from York High School in 1988. He was currently working for York County Public Schools as a bus aid and helped family and friends care for their animals and doing odd jobs. Previously he worked Security at Sun Retreats in Gwynn’s Island, Bush Gardens, Hoss’s Deli and worked construction with Branscomb for several years. His was nick named Smiley, from a young age, he was known by his smile. He loved connecting with Classmates and friends all over the peninsula. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed NASCAR.

Jerry’s Story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of cherishing each moment, valuing our connections with others and striving to make the world a better place one smile or small act of kindness at a time.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jane Marie Anderson and James S. Wade, Sr. and survived by his daughter Dakota Millkin of Wayne, West Virginia a sister Julie Slater (Doug) of New Kent and brother James “Jimmy” S. Wade, Jr. (Melissa) of Hayes, Va. Also survived by his nieces Erinn, Kristyn, Rasia, Katarina, Mckinzy and nephews, Kyle, James, Mikhail, Chace and Tavish as well as his step father James W Anderson, step siblings Barbara Ernie & MJ.

The Family will have a walk thru closed casket visitation on Friday November 22, from 6 to 8pm at Amory Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Amory Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private in James River Baptist Church Cemetery where he will join his loving mother.
