James Aubrey Bohannon, Jr.

Gloucester, Va. – James (Jimmy) Aubrey Bohannon, Jr. passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at the age of 58.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A Bohannon, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Bohannon; soulmate, Tammy Lawson; sister, Tricia Hamilton (David); nieces, Lydia and Lauren Hamilton. He grew up in Yorktown, Virginia and graduated from Tabb High School. He went on to work at Newport News Shipbuilding as a machinist and later graduated from the Apprentice School. He spent his adult life in Gloucester, Virginia.
Jimmy was everyone’s friend. He was always there, ready to work – help – play – hang out, usually in that order. He selflessly shared his knowledge, endless abilities, solutions, and kindness. These are the rare gifts he left to all of us. His first priority was always his family, followed by faith and then friends. He was always willing to help anyone, anytime. As everyone knows, his best trait was listening. He truly mastered being a son, brother, uncle, soulmate, and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Providence United Methodist Church, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00, followed by a burial at the church, and reception of family and friends in the church Fellowship Hall. Instead of flowers, please plant a tree in his memory or donate to the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society.
