

Jack Wayne Phillips
Jack Wayne Phillips, born on May 16, 1938 in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away in Yorktown, Virginia, on April 2, 2026 at the age of 87.
He was a professional tractor trailer driver (in-town) for Roadway Express (Teamsters), retiring with the recognition of more than One Million Safe Miles.
He continued his career as a Civil Servant for the Department of Navy, retiring again after another 15 years. He was well known to customers and co-workers alike for his strong work ethic and sense of humor.
Jack served in the military (USA) as did all his brothers and his father before him. He first started college when it was the Norfolk extension of William and Mary and later graduated from Old Dominion University.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Henry Arthur Phillips and Nora Starke, brothers, Henry A. Phillips Jr., George L. Phillips, Douglas R. Phillips, and Richard M. Phillips. He is survived by his wife Margaret M. Phillips of Portsmouth VA. His memory will be cherished by his son Jack W. Phillips, Jr. (Sandra) of Yorktown, Virginia, daughter Mary Phillips (Portsmouth), grandchildren Joshua Phillips (Rebekah) and Jackie Bradley (Connor) and great-grandchildren Lydia Phillips and Clay Bradley.
Visitation will be held at Amory Funeral Home in Yorktown, Virginia, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Family and friends are invited to share memories and offer condolences at 6to 7:30 PM.
