India Phillips Wood

Yorktown, Va. – India Wood was born on February 25, 1930 and ran into the arms of her loving Jesus on January 10, 2023. What a joy that we all received the gift of so many years with her in our lives. Her example of love and care has carried on into all the generations after her. We will miss you dearly, but know that one day, we will see you again.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earnest (Clyde) Wood Sr. and her son Buster Wood (Earnest C. Wood, Jr.)
She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie J. Vaughn and Robin L. Sleigher (David); her grandchildren: William (Kip) Atkins and his wife, Barbara, Mark Atkins and his wife Ronda, Kristin Sok and her husband, Rocky, Justin Sleigher and his wife Yana and Brittany Sleigher; 13 great grandchildren: TJ, Candice (Bear), Will (Taj), Christopher (Madison), Kelsey, Sophia, Levi, Thomas, Scarlett, Ivy, Gabriella Annabelle and Jacob and 4 great-great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Gunner, Rebel and Kaiden
A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday in Amory Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
