Homer George Nicely, Jr.

Poquoson, Va. – Homer G. Nicely Jr died on August 19, 2022.
He is survived by his children Cheryl Miller (Greg), Bryan Nicely (Holly), and Daniel Nicely; their mother Barbara Brown Nicely; grandchildren Jason Miller (Jennifer), Andrew Nicely, and Catherine Nicely; great-granddaughter Gwen Miller; and niece Donna Fontenot who was very special to him. Homer had a great sense of humor and really big feet. His happiest moments were spent with his family; he loved them and was very proud of them. He will be greatly missed. Homer graduated from the NN Shipbuilding Apprentice School and spent his career in the shipbuilding industry. He was a standout on the Apprentice School basketball team and coached youth sports in York County.
Arrangements will be private. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice or CHKD, 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507.
