Geraldine L. Snapp


It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Geraldine L. Snapp, on February 24, 2024. Geraldine was born on May 22, 1937, and raised in Matoka, West Virginia. Geraldine met her husband, Frazier Snapp, shortly after high school, and they were married January 29, 1959. They relocated to the tidewater area at this time and have remained in the area since. After a successful career in the hospitality industry, Geraldine retired in order to spend time with her husband and loved ones.
Preceding her in death were her parents Daniel and Laura Williams, her brothers J.C and Jack Williams, and a granddaughter, Shelby Snapp. She is survived by her sons Randy Snapp (Robin) of Yorktown, and Donnie Snapp (Sandy) of Poquoson, her grandchildren, Kayla Snapp (Brian) of Newport News, Spencer Snapp (Brittany) of Yorktown, Summer Chavez (Richard) of Williamsburg. She has 3 Great Grandchildren, Carter, Teagan, and Parker with the 4th one slated to be with us late summer, and Ava Adams. Also, surviving are Brother-in-laws, Leonard Snapp (Nina), of West Virginia, Richard (Pam) of Poquoson, and Ricky Snapp (Connie) of North Carolina, and Sister-in-laws Linda Snapp (David) of West Virginia, Barbara and Norma Snapp of Hampton, along with many nieces and nephews.
Geraldine was blessed with exceptional neighbors and friends that has answered her calls for help when she was in need. She also received help from her church, Zion United Methodist and a special member Zetie Damron, who was very special in her life. Our family thanks you very much for all the support you provided!
Geraldine’s celebration of life will be on March 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Zion United Methodist Churcu will be officiated by Reverend David C. Magruder. Please make a contribution to Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 240, Seaford, Va. 23696 in lieu of flowers.
