Frances Fletcher Stankan

Frances Fletcher Stankan, 81, of Grafton, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of the late William A. and Cora A. (Bingham) Fletcher.
On July 14, 1962, at St. Patrick’s Church in Cumberland, MD, she was united in marriage to James Stankan, who preceded her in death in March, 2020.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Mayberry and husband John of Wisconsin; and Jammy Trinrud and husband Chris of Florida.
Also surviving are six grandchildren: Elsa, Lily, and John James of Wisconsin; and Darby, Amelia, and Brady Trinrud of Florida; and many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime friend, JB Whisker, of Everett.
Also surviving are two sisters and one brother: GayAnn Wilson and husband Isaac of Muncy, PA; Holly Fletcher Smith and husband Henry of Tampa, FL; and Randy Fletcher and wife Karen of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister: Kenneth T. Fletcher; Dale E. Fletcher; Robert A. Fletcher; and Cora Lee (Fletcher) Daugherty.
Fran was a retired Registered Nurse. She enjoyed her flowers, working outside, loved her cats, taking walks, talking to family and friends on the phone, and going to the Bargain Box.
There will be no visitation. She will be deeply and sadly missed.
