Ernest “Jack” Wright Sr.

Ernest “Jack” Wright Sr. AKA Redtop, 89, of Barhamsville, went to his heavenly home on February 23rd, 2025 with his family by his side.

He was born September 19th, 1935 in Williamsport, MD, to the late Paul S. Wright and Janice Miller. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gilbert Wright and John Wright.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Orpha, his children Denise, Jack Jr. (Paula), Deanna and Melissa. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren with another expected soon, and one great-great-granddaughter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jack was a member of Lebanon Christian Church for 65 years and served as deacon in the past.
He was an avid hunter and he enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard or piddling in his shed. He loved visiting his many friends, watching Nascar, and spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM with the service at noon, followed by a graveside service on Saturday, March 1st, at Lebanon Christian Church. 409 Yorktown Rd, Newport News, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made out to St. Jude.
