Ellen Barbara Orren

Ellen Orren, 73, of Hampton, VA passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2022. Ellen was born in 1949 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts to Ernest & Lillian Benway, and was the youngest of 6 children. She grew up in the Berkshires where she met her lifetime friend, Debbie Durkac. Later the family moved to Springfield, MA, and graduated from Cathedral High School.
Ellen was a homemaker for most of her life, raising 13 children. She was married twice, first to Harry McBee, Jr. and then William Orren. She is preceded in death by her first child, Jennifer, who passed away within days following birth. Also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers (Leo, Edward, and Charles), and 1 sister (Mary Carol).
Ellen is survived by 1 sister, Sheila Piccioni (Joel) and 12 children; Tina Cuthrell (Rob); Rick McBee (Peggy); Elaine Torres (Juan); Melissa Gonzalez (Ramon); April Acuna (Elias); David McBee (Jeannette); Tim McBee (Jessica); Sheila Bailey; Toni Hines (Mike); Billy McBee (Latoya); Marti Motosicky (Clint); and Sarah Moore (Julian). Ellen has 30 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.
During her later years she enjoyed the companionship and friendships of many at Waterview Health and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Riverside Rehab Center). She was very active in the Sr. living facility, making a difference in the lives of fellow residents, and caregivers. Ellen loved the Lord and went home peacefully. Thank you, Waterview Health and Rehab, for all the care you provided Mom. Family will have a Graveside Service at Mill River Cemetery in New Marlborough, Massachusetts at 11am on Saturday, July 30.
