Edward Charles Herb, Sr.

There are losses that rearrange the world.
Surrounded by his children and wife, Edward Charles Herb Sr, left this earth on June 16th, 2022. Words don’t begin to the paint the picture of the man he was or the incredible pain felt in his absence.
A lifelong Virginia resident, born in Newport News and a member of the Tabb community since 1986. Eddie served in the United States Navy, as well as the Naval Reserves for over two decades. Following his military service, he served with the Hampton City Fire Department for 28 years, retiring as a captain in 1996.Often a man of few words, he still exuded warmth & love. He had the best sense of humor you never saw coming. He will be fondly remembered as a hero, a giver, a man of hospitality. He served his family, his community, and his home.
Edward leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Judith Herb, his children Tammy (Tommy) Minor, Edward Herb Jr, Victoria (Ryan) Edwards, Kasey (Chad) Vaillancourt, stepsons Justin & Eric Knuteson, and grandchildren Jeremy Dane, Travis, Preston and Ellis.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 2pm on June 24th, 2022 at Amory Funeral Home, 410 Grafton Drive. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
