Donald Buford Phillips

Donald Buford Phillips, 91 years old, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2025.
Donald grew up in the coal mining town of Wheelwright, Kentucky, the youngest of six children born to Claude and Rosa Phillips. He left Wheelwright after graduating from Wheelwright High School to join the US Air Force where he served 25 years.
Don married Carolyn Sue Music, his high school sweetheart, on April 20, 1957 in Detroit, MI. Together they had 4 children, Michael (Pamela), Tonja (John), Dawn (Butch), Brian (Valerie). Don and Sue have 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Besides his love for Sue and his family he loved the game of golf. He played golf all his life and later taught others the game.
Donald’s wishes were to be cremated and his remains spread over the mountains of Kentucky where he found great joy and comfort in his life.
A celebration of life will be held at The Williamsburg Golf Club (1801 Merrimac Trail) on Saturday February 15, 2025 at 6:00 pm. Friends, colleagues and golf buddies are invited to attend.
