Diann Marie Wetherell

On February 26, 2022, our mother Diann Marie Wetherell gained her heavenly wings. Mom was the proud matriarch of our family, caring for each and everyone of us through good times and bad. She took care of our father when he became ill and made sure he lived a long and happy life. She was always quick to give advice when it was needed and was there to help no matter what. Mom volunteered for many things in her life, be it a cub scout leader, girl scout leader, and loved watching my brother play in high school band, as she did also.
Later in life she became active with the women’s auxiliary for the VFW post 824. She was patriotic about this country and was very passionate about veterans affairs and making sure that they were cared for. Mom was a devout catholic, stubborn, loved a good gumbo, and when the Cajun music would start, she would sing and dance with joy. She also loved Charley Pride and Fats Domino.
Mom is survived by my brother; Scott Wetherell and his wife Kim, myself; Terri Howell and husband Dean, grandchildren; Scottie and girlfriend Brittany, Joshua and wife Erinn, Jessica and boyfriend Terrance and Casey and husband Andrew, She is also survived by her great grandchildren whom she adored; Jace, Skylar, Bryson, Reagan, Arya, Ryder, Preston, Charlie, twins; Tucker and Hayden, and Wyatt, her sisters Jean and Betty and many nieces and nephews to whom she was godmother.
Mom’s last year was a difficult one, but she was true to her stubbornness and fought the fight like a champ. Our family will miss her terribly but we are comforted knowing that she is with our father.
