Diane Bush
Tabb, Va. – Diane Bush, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022 with her loving husband at her side.
In her twenties she taught four year old kindergarten at Victory Christian Day School. In her thirties she found her life’s purpose as a surgical technologist at Bons Secours Depaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2004, eight years before she retired at age 65, she received the Bon Secours Dedicated Service Award for generous service, creativity and superior performance; a living example of good help to those in need. Her natural ability to love and care for others, and her open minded feisty sense of humor permeated her entire life and was reflected in her close relationships with family, friends, in particular Betty, and an array of animals.
Diane married young in life to Raymond Moyer. She has one child from that marriage, her cherished daughter Denise Moyer. In 1987 Diane met the dashing world traveler, William (Bill) Bush, a former E-5 in the Navy and retired Computer Specialist for the Department of Defense. They married in 1988 and began a 35 year long romance filled with hiking, skiing, ocean cruising and boating. They adored their dogs over the years, including an Alaskan malamute, Chelsea and three bearded collies Gumball, Zippy and Ditto. Diane lived her life with quiet dignity, elegant grace, impeccable taste and a refined fashion sense. She loved crafting, enjoying nature, writing poetry, making lists, and making more lists. She also loved listening and dancing to music of all genres. She loved wide open spaces, beaches, and sunsets. She was a splendid woman inside and out.
In addition to her daughter, she is mourned by two grandsons, Zachary and Hayden along with her siblings Kathleen and Raymond. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Diane’s honor to the Nature Conservancy.
A memorial service will be hosted at a later date in Ohio. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
