David Wayne Smith


David Wayne Smith, Chuck. Passed away on July 20th, 2024. Chuck was a wonderful man.He was always so funny, the best sense of humor around, he always found a joke in almost anything. He was always so giving, kind, humble, loving and a hard working man. He’d give his last dollar and the shirt off his back. He was a loving father, brother and son. He would do anything for his kids. He always cared for his family so deeply. Through all the ups and downs he was always so grateful for the little things in life. His mother, his children and grandchildren were his world. He loved his mother so much. This is not goodbye, we will be together again one day, he is home and reunited. Only time is left until we meet again.
He was a member, very involved in Victory Life Church. He and Mike burns owned a construction business called Smith and Burns for many years. He worked for the department of engineering in Newport News. He was also a black belt and taught many martial arts, taekwondo, and tempo for many years. Chuck and Tony Massengill were involved in teaching martial arts and were also best friends.
Proceeded in death by Helen Carey, William Carey and Charlie Boyd. Brother of Sharon Gustafson and Les Smith. Father of Scott smith, Cathy smith, Michael smith, Kristen Jones, Joseph Smith, Juanita Smith, Faith Fisher, Jacob Fisher and Kendall Lohman. Grandfather of Nathan Smith, Aaron Smith, Christen Smith, Gabriel Smith, Finnegan Smith, Rowen Jones, Azalia Fisher, Sawyer Fisher and Great Grandfather to Cora Smith and Sophia Gautieri.
He will always hold a place in our heart and he will be missed by so many. We would really love for you to come and honor his life with us November 8th at 10am at Amory Funeral Home Address 410 Grafton Dr. Yorktown, Va 23692.
