David Lee Bell

David Lee Bell David Lee Bell passed away in the arms of his wife at home on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the age of 70. David was born in 1954 to John D. and Natalie Ballard Bell. He was raised in Hampton with his siblings, John D. Bell Jr. (Pam), Deborah B. Smith (Paul), Steven W. Bell (Dianne) and Guy W. Bell (Jackie). After graduating from York High School, he went on to learn several trades and was happiest working with his hands. He eventually started his own business, painting and pressure washing Homes in the community. His business was small but very successful. He worked hard and had great pride in his accomplishments. PeePa, as he was lovingly known to his grandchildren, enjoyed being with his family. He was always present supporting whatever they were doing. He loved holidays and special events shared with family and friends. Wherever David went he brought the fun and silliness with him. He loved to talk to people and never met a stranger. He especially loved going to Pop’s Restaurant for breakfast every morning with his favorite group of buddies, who affectionately called him “Big Bird”. David was preceded in death by his father and mother, his father in law William E. Burbage, and mother in law Frances A. Burbage.
