Surrounded by family, Claydean C. “Cheri” Kelly left this world to be with her Lord on Nov 2, 2025.
Cheri was born on September 21, 1943, in Nassawadox VA, to Louise R and Russell L Hopkins. She grew up in Keller VA, and graduated from Central High School in 1961 as the salutatorian.
Cheri and her first husband spent two years stationed in Turkey and Germany before settling in York County and joining Grafton Christian Church.
In 1974, Cheri married Frank G. Kelly III, and together they raised 4 children, Lon (Carol), David, Justin (Lynn) and Trisha(Laz).
Cheri worked for over 45 years at the TPMG office on Cook Road in Yorktown VA.
Cheri is preceded in death by her husband Frank, her mother Louise, her father Russell, and her daughter-in-law Jennifer W. Kelly.
She is survived by her sister Pat (John) Carpenter, her brothers John L. and Mark R. (Madeline) Hopkins, her four children, eight grand-children, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Amory Funeral Home in Grafton, VA.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Grafton Christian Church, 109 Brick Church Road, Grafton VA on Saturday, November 8 at 2:00pm.
