Christopher Albert Astle, Jr.

Christopher Albert Astle Jr. Age 83 of Newport News, Va went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, January 6th, 2024.
Chris was born in Petersburg, VA on December 21st 1940 to Mr. Christopher Albert Astle Sr. ad Mrs. Martha Bristow Astle. He is preceded in death by his brother Fred Astle, step daughter, Shelly M. Sych and grandson Brent Jacobson.
Chris was in the armed forces (Air Force) from 1960 to 1964 where he discovered his love for radio announcing, which then lead to an amazing career he loved as (Chuck Adams) for over 20 years, the longest time spent at WGH Radio as a News Announcer/News Director.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Gayle Astle, 3 stepchildren, Dawn Jacobson, husband Aaron Jacobson of Williamsburg, VA, Scott Sych, wife Tammy Sych of Gloucester, VA and Amy Seamster, husband, John Seamster 3rd of Williamsburg, VA, 2 Siblings, sister, Carole Ross of Lumberton, NC, Brother, Reverend Rick Astle and wife Donna Astle of Lumberton, NC.
Chris also had 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in First Baptist Church, Newport News, Va. Burial will be private in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va.
