Carolyn Marie Allsbrook
Hampton, Va. – Carolyn Marie Allsbrook, 88, passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024.
Carolyn was a native of Seaford, Virginia, and lifelong Peninsula resident. She graduated from Poquoson High School in 1953. She retired from the city of Newport News in 1995 after 16 years of service as an administrative assistant.
Carolyn enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, sewing, and she loved to travel, especially to Florida and Disney World. She also enjoyed lunching with ladies from the church.
She is survived by her husband Lynn Edward Allsbrook of Hampton, and her daughters, Deborah Kay Ellis and her husband Bob of Smithfield, and Sherry Lynn Collins of Chesapeake. She is also survived by a grandson, Randall Ellis, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents Hazel Carmines Slaight and James E. Slaight and a grandson Robert William Ellis, III.
A funeral service will be held at Zion United Methodist Church in Seaford on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church social hall following the burial. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion United Methodist Church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund.
