Carmine Grella, Jr.


Carmine (Chick) Grella, Jr., a beacon of love, strength, and kindness, peacefully passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 87.
Born on December 5, 1936, in Providence, Rhode Island, where he learned the value of hard work and integrity. Carmine was the embodiment of devotion, dedicating his life to his family and community.
Throughout his 87 years, Carmine’s unwavering love and support were evident in every aspect of his life. He shared 64 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mona, creating a partnership built on mutual respect, understanding, and unwavering commitment. Together, they navigated life’s joys and challenges with grace and resilience, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
As a devoted father, Carmine instilled in his three children the importance of compassion, perseverance, and the pursuit of one’s dreams. He took great pride in their accomplishments and supported them in their endeavors, always offering a listening ear and sage advice.
A great joy in Carmine’s life was his role as a grandfather. He adored his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, showering them with unconditional love, wisdom, and endless laughter. From sharing stories of his youth to imparting invaluable life lessons, Carmine cherished every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren, leaving an unforgettable imprint on their hearts and minds.
A celebration of Carmine’s life will be held on February 22 at 5:30 PM at Amory Funeral Home, where family and friends will come together to honor his enduring legacy of love, compassion, and service. While his physical presence may be gone, Carmine’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Carmine Grella will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Mona; his devoted children, Lisa, Carmine III, and Misty; his grandchildren, Thomas, Robert, Lilly, Alyssa, Erin, and Stephen; and his great grandchildren; and a multitude of family members and friends whose lives he touched in profound ways.
