

Brian S. Wilson
Brian S Wilson, 76, of Yorktown VA crossed over into the arms of the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2025.
He courageously battled cancer for several years. Brian was born in Bremerton, WA to Orvol Herman & Mary Jane Herbst Wilson. Brian was preceded by his parents, his brother Michael Alan Patterson, his nephew, Josh Patterson, and his Great-nephew Josh R Patterson. Brian is survived by his loving wife Celia Burch Wilson and his beloved dog Darla. He is also survived by her children, Kristen Teubert (Joe) of Mathews, VA, and Wesley M Smith (Erin) of Seaford, VA, and grandchildren Sebastian Teubert of Newport News VA, Allison Teubert of Morgantown, WV, Bladen Jarrell and Wesley A Smith of Seaford, VA. Brian is also survived by his nephew Michael John Patterson (Francis) of Everett, WA, and his great nephew Damien Patterson of Sequim, WA. Brian also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.
Brian was a kind and loving man to others and loved all animals. He had a good sense of humor; he could strike up a conversation with anyone and talk for hours. Brian studied zoology at Olympic Junior College in Bremerton, WA where he received an associate’s degree. He also attended the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Brian cut his college career short to move to Kodiak Island, AK to pursue his dream of working on fishing boats bringing in “the deadliest catch” for 25 years. He owned and skippered two commercial fishing boats then Brian left Alaska and became a licensed HVAC technician in the Seattle area. He moved to Virginia, where he worked as an HVAC technician, and went on to own his own HVAC business.
Brian and Celia met in 1950 as infants in Silverdale, WA when their parents were good friends and neighbors. They were playmates in their early childhood years then went their separate ways when Celia’s family moved East to Virginia. In 2003 Brian and Celia met up again and were married in 2004 they shared a wonderful life until his death. Brian was a member of Grace Church Yorktown, VA, and was an active member of the York Lions Club serving as President and in other capacities.
A celebration of Life will be held for Brian on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Grace Church, 111 Church St. Yorktown, VA 23690, at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Selden Walker. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery with Reception following in the Parish house. In lieu of flowers please consider making contributions to the Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Rd. We thank all of Brian’s medical care teams who have cared for Brian during his courageous battle with Cancer over the past 6 years. We also are very thankful to our family, friends, and Grace church family especially Rev. Selden Walker for the continued prayers and support.
