Brandon Jeffrey Wood, Sr.


Brandon Jeffrey Woods Sr. passed away and joined eternal peace on August 1, 2023, in Newport News, VA. Preceded in death was his father John C. Wood Jr., his maternal grandparents Harry Cash Sr. and Betty Cash and paternal grandparents John C. Wood Sr. and Gladys Wood and his close aunt Julie A. Cash Barker and his father-in-law Frank West.
Brandon Jeffrey Wood Sr. entered this World on March 18, 1983, at Mary Immaculate hospital in Newport News, VA. He was the first born to parents, John C. Wood Jr. and Karen A. Cash Beckner. In addition, Brandon gained a wonderful bonus mom Patricia Wood in 2004 and a bonus dad Roger Beckner in 2005 that loved him dearly.
Brandon’s first years in life was raised in the church and he was baptized at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia before his first birthday. He Graduated from Bethel High School and continued his education to earn many licenses and certifications throughout his career.
He enjoyed his time spent with his dad working side by side on vehicles in his dad’s shop and as time passed it became a side job for him working out of a shop his dad and Son’s built in the backyard. There was nothing he could not do or figure out.
Throughout the past 15 years, he enjoyed his career and working with his co-workers at HRSD. He had just recently moved on to work at the Newport News Shipbuilders.
Married to and leaves behind to mourn his loss his best friend and wife Rosemary West Wood of 16 years residing in Hayes, VA. His minor Children were his pride and joy he loved beyond measure. He was an enormously proud Dad to Brandon Jeffrey Wood Jr. age 16 and Austin Mathew Wood age 14, both of Hayes, VA.
his Brother-Joshua Wood (Viola), Dylan Beckner and Blake Beckner, Sisters- Marcia Parker (Fred), Stacey Swindells (Josh), Kayla Gilbert-Cash and Ivy Beckner, Nephews-Logan Ryan Wood, Alex Parker, Isaac and Aiden Swindells, Niece- Kelsey Parker, Uncles- Harry Cash (Renee), Timmy Cash(Julie) and Randy Barker, Aunts-Shelia Rodgers and Cheryl Harris (Charlie) and many other family members, friends and loved ones. Other survivors, Blanche West, Tori and Billy West, their daughters Victoria and Sophie, Jimmy West and his daughter Kylea, Frankie and his daughters Samantha, Tiffany, Victoria, Christina and sons James and John, Eric and Laurie Thomas and their sons Aaron, Adam, Alan, and Andrew. He also had three great-nephews named Steven, Braxton, and Korrin. They all loved Brandon so much. He was
Brandon enjoyed quality time with family and friends. He enjoyed Nascar, going on beach vacations, camping at Piney River and was a diehard Redskins fans. He enjoyed working on vehicles and helping family and friends in any way possible.
Services for Brandon are on Thursday August 10th, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church 3501 Providence Road Hayes, VA 23072. Viewing at 2pm, Service at 3pm, Reception to immediately follow in the fellowship hall.
