Billy McCoy Guy

Billy McCoy Guy, 79, passed away on September 27, 2026.
Billy was born in Cedar Bluff, Virginia, and moved with his family to Frisco, Colorado, in the 1950s. He started working at an early age, helping out at local service stations in Colorado. Before he even had a driver’s license, Billy was driving a tow truck. He had a natural ability to drive, operate, and fix all kinds of vehicles and equipment, a skill he carried with him throughout his life.
Billy met the love of his life, Mary Ann (Basta) Guy, in Frisco, Colorado. They married in Las Vegas in 1977 and eventually made their way back to Yorktown, Virginia, where Mary Ann was from. They spent their lives together in Yorktown until Mary Ann passed away in 2017. Billy carried her memory and love with him for the rest of his life.
Billy was a hardworking man who took pride in what he did. He served in the United States Army and worked for Golden Eagle Well Drilling in Colorado before moving to Virginia, where he worked at Fort Eustis for many years as a mechanic.
To his family, Billy was a loving husband and Papa. He enjoyed watching television, especially America’s Funniest Home Videos and sports. He could always be found working on crossword puzzles, which later became word searches.
Billy spent his final year at Commonwealth Senior Living in Gloucester, Virginia. As his memory began to fade, his family could still see the love he had for them.
Billy’s surviving family will deeply miss him and cherish the memories, love, and support he gave them throughout his life.
